    Current system:
    Processors AMD Phenom X3 8450
    Mainboard Mode GeForce7050M-M (0x0000042E - 0x611B7434)
    RAM Module 1 DDR2, PC2-6400 (400 MHz), 2048 MBytes, Melco
    RAM Module 2 DDR2, PC2-6400 (400 MHz), 2048 MBytes, Corsair
GFX card Name NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO

I'm happy with Processor and graphics card but would like more ram ~32gb. I dont think my mainboard will accept any more ram and ddr2 is stupid expensive anyhow. Can anyone advise a new mainboard and RAM which would accept my old CPU and graphics card. It could be nice if it had at least one 1 IDE but its not a show stopper if it dont. I can always use addon card. Will supply any more details if requested.
    TIA,
    sKeith

Why do you need more ram? What do you use the computer for?

I would like to have more VMs (virtual machines) open. Have debian 64 as Host OS. I play with different distros and also have a xp vm too.

As far as I know your cpu only supports DDR2 memory so you would need to change both that and the motherboard to be able to use a large amount of ram (ddr3)
