Best portable modem - advice needed!

    Hi!
I hope this is the right place to post, I'm not particularly tech-savvy would would like some advice, if anyone can help me.

I have a new job teaching through Skype for about 4 hours a day. At the moment I am confined to home while I work, but would like to know if there is any good portable modem I could use so I could work from wherever I want.

Eventually I would like to look into a device that can also be used within other countries, so I can work while travelling abroad, but at the moment would be happy to have something that is efficient enough to support the 4 hours of Skyping per day. (I had a Vodafone dongle years ago, but the bandwidth limit was particularly low and their service was appalling - they overcharged me by over a grand for the first month, and it took another month and at least 5 more calls from me to sort out their mistake.)

    Thanks in advance! Brian

I dont know if this is the right is the right forum to write this but didnt want to set up another forum just to ask a question.

I signed up for an internet stick (vodafone), my year contract was up in Sept 2012. I went into phone shop to ask to cancel it as my contract was up and they gave me a number to phone, which rang out. went in again and they gave me another 2 numbers to phone, which are no help either.

Just wondering how other ppl went about cancelling their internet stick?? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

To be honest, I just waited till my contract was up - think it was six months in my case. After the absolute fiasco of their overcharging and not doing anything despite my repeated phonecalls, they eventually gave me two free months as compensation. That said, their customer service is absolutely dire and I'd never go back to them.

I think you have to pay quite a large amount of money to break the contract; could be wrong though.

Thanks. my contract is up. But did your contract just stop automatically or did u have to ring up and ask for it to be cancelled. Honestly dont understand why the staff in the phone shop cant just cancel it there and then when you go in,instead having to ring around to sort it out myself. So easy to set it up, not that easy to cancel it!!
