    Hi so this is the story, my girlfriend lives in a rented house with her 8 year old son ,father of the boy walked out , she gets 101 rent allowance per week as she lives there with her son, now the ting is that she is expecting our baby soon, I live with my parents and work full time,9.75 per hour I am going to move in with her soon and was just wondering what benifits would we be entitleted to? I know that we would lose the rent allowance and have to pay full rent its 700 pm. Would she still get dole or could I claim fis? And would we get a medical card? At the moment she gets 214opfa. Thanks for reading not great at this.

    Well she loses her lone parents payment as she is no longer a lone parent. She could go on Jobseekers, but she would be assessed on your earnings as you would be a cohabiting couple. Best bet would be FIS if Im not mistaken.

    Yep, looks like FIS could be your best bet, it could be a payment of about €130 per week.
