First Pc build.

Well in about a month or do I'm looking to buy everything to build my first pc!

I have nothing! Except €700.....

I just want a pc built out of that 700, no monitor, mouse e.t.c.

What could I expect to get out of 700 and would I be able to play all the latest games?

I can get more money up for monitor, keyboard and all the accessories stuff. But advice on a good monitor for gaming... Mainly playing FPS.

Any help greatly appreciated!!

AMD build should handle anything at 1080p more or less maxed out,This build sacrifices an SSD for pure gaming performance while also offering a nice upgrade path as AM3+ is going nowhere.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Now I'm guessing you know what your talking about and all of these parts will fit together nicely? My mate happened to spend a lot of money on a processor that did not fit his motherboard.... So yeah really don't want that happening!

Yup that CPU will fit that motherboard no problem. If you're looking at CPU's and mobo's, you can tell if they'll fit together by the Socket Type. That AMD CPU is an AM3+ socket, as is the motherboard, so they fit together fine.

EDIT: you can actually see the socket type in those links.

Bit over budget

but I've made some adjustments to get a 64gb ssd in, dropping the HDD down to 500GB, the motherboard to the pro3, and the FX 8350 back down to an FX 8320, as you can overclock this very easily back up to and beyond the stock speed of the FX-8350 making it slightly better value i think.

Hard drive: 1T Sata hard drive.

RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Memory.

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 2Gb GDDR5 with HDMI.

OS: Windows 7 home premium.

Power: 750 watt branded power supply.

Optical drive: 24x dual layer sata DVD writer.

Plus a 1 year collect and return warranty.

I have seen this for €860 with delivery, it's a total desktop pc, it has everything you need. Could I do better for that price? It's also already built and ready to go. And can be upgraded to a 3 year collect and return warranty.

Pretty good spec for the money but that graphics card is pretty poor.

You could build better.

I'd knock down the i7 to an i5 and upgrade the graphics card instead, IMO you're not going to notice the difference in CPU when you get to that stage in a gaming build. http://lb.hardwareversand.de/2048+MB/57546/Gigabyte+Radeon+HD+7870+GHz+Edition%2C+2GB+GDDR5%2C+PCI-Express.article seems to be a very good buy for the money.

That's a way better build. I'd be a bit concerned about that power supply though especially with good overclocking parts like that.

True actually it would be no harm with a 550W if you were pumping in a good bit of extra voltage into the CPU and GPU to get the overrclocks. Although I still think the 450W would be manage ok, but you'd probably get much closer to the ideal 50% PSU load with a slightly bigger PSU.

I probably would have but in the SF 550W if I had started from stratch instead of modifying the previous posted build and obsessed with getting to exactly €860

The shop wants €90 to upgrade to the radeon! Seems a bit expensive for some thing that's only €55 more expensive. And it's a shop so I'm sure there getting it cheaper than I am! I doubt it costs €35 to slot a graphics card into place?

I emailed again about dropping down to i5 and upgrading to the radeon. Told them that with the price difference between processors and cards that I should be getting discounted! So fingers crossed.

Yeah that looks a lot better! I think I'll have to save this set up! But you think upgrade to 550 watt for extra 20? And I'll throw an optical drive in there too bring it up to the €900 mark! Now..... To start saving

Well the HD7950 is far from essential for gaming at 1080p, I was simply price matching the shop

, the €700 HD7850 build I posted before would be perfect for gaming at 1080p resolution.

Be sure and check back when you are buying as alot can change between now and then in prices and components. And do start reading and watching PC building tutorials in the meantime, its a easy enough skill to learn that will bring you a lifetime of savings
