German Windows 7 to english?

I just received and built my new PC from hardwareversand but realised I ordered the German language copy of Windows 7 Home edition 64bit, thinking it was the English version. Before I open it, can I install it in English? Or if not can I use the licence key for the english version if I download it?

Don't really want to go through the hassle of sending it back to HWVS!

I'm reading conflicting reports online - some say the oem keys are definitely language locked, but it works for others??

A system builder license is slightly different, also were it windows 8 the ISO would not be available.

The digital river ISO is available here.

Should have specified that is the Win 7 64 bit SP 1 ISO btw and pretty certain a system builder key is not language locked

They're not language locked. I was told that the EULA forbids it, but I can't find any reference in there.

As above, the key is valid for all languages. Download the ISO from digital river and use that to install. Did the same thing a few months ago

Had to do this a while back for a Friend who ordered Windows 7 on a build from HWV. I didnt want to download windows 7 and all that so I downloaded http://www.froggie.sk/ and English pack from here http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-mui-language-packs-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-links/. But it is probably easier to download Windows 7 again.

Don't mean to butt in on this thread, but do you get a 30 day trail for Windows 7 before you have to enter the key?

You do indeed, just leave the product key field blank.

Thanks all for the help. I downloaded the English DVD from the link above and bit the bullet and opened the case.

    Voila! It worked!
