Cycle Route Belfast to Cork

Hi folks myself & 3 friends planning to cycle Belfast to Cork round May bank holiday. We are not club cyclists,just leisure but would be fit enough & happily cycle 70-80 miles per day. We have done a few 3-5day cycles before.

What is the best route & ideal number of days, ideal if people have done it & can recommend through experience.

Have looked at usual route planners but would appreciate advice based on experience of travelling the route - especially in past couple of years since recent road changes.

Key sites to visit, possible accommodation/ food stops & feature roads would be great.

I haven't done the route from Belfast but I did ride from Arklow to Belfast last year in 1 day. I went along the coast all the way if I was going Belfast- Cork I would go along the east coast and then round by Waterford /dungarvan its not too punishing a ride and there are lots of places to stay.

Thanks Clog, i'll look at that,sounds like a nicer route than usual down the middle I would do driving.
