Hence why I am posting here.................................................I know Grundfos and Wilo are good units, was curious about this unknown make.

It was listed on a quotation I had done up by a plumbing supplies company. Also listed was a Myson CP53, which at least I've heard of.

Ye myson are fairly standard basic. I think all pumps now have to be modulating under new regs

I have come across plenty of lowara mains booster pumps which were of very good quality but never came across a circulating pump by them

Are they sold here as Terrier pumps ? how much cheaper are they than a wilo or grunfos pump. I have had to change 2 myson pumps one of them was only in use for a week! If you are only saving a few euro it is hardly worth it.

Depends weather they are genuine Lowara or a cheap generic they use at the bottom end of the scale. The way to tell is the genuine pumps have the Grub screw to acess the rotor. The generics just have a plastic vent cap on a spring. Genuine pumps are excellent. Generics are crap and probably Chinese.
I would rate them above Grundfos but below Wilo. Low end Grundfos circulators are utter rubbish imo. By far the most likely pump to fail of the well known brands. Their high end stuff is good though.
The good Lowara circs are the TCR range afaik.

Hope this is not against Mod rules. They are in PJ Matthews in Limerick. €39.00 + Vat while the grundfos are €76.00 + Vat

Grundfos would be the pump of choice for a lot of plumbers with good reason,

The price of the pump is only one part of a job.
A plumber will look at it from an overall cost point of view, if they fit the cheaper pump and it fails in a short time they have to go and change it at the loss of their time which is going to far out weigh the initial difference in cost of the pump.

On the other hand if its a diyer changing their own pump they tend not to put a cost on their own time so they may be prepared to go with the cheaper pump and if it fails is a short time they dont mind taking back to the merchants to get it replaced and then refit it, and even if it they end up having to buy a second one at some stage they are still not loosing money.

There are a lot of merchants claiming that the cheaper pumps they have are "the same as" or "made by" one of the leading manufacturers

Grunfoss or Wilo, they are only expensive when you are fitting them, when they are still going in 10 years, the extra few quid is well spent;)
