Sitting room gaming & media PC.

Hi folks, I'm hoping for some help and recommendations with my PC build...

With an expanding family I'm going to have to move my gaming to the sitting room. So what I need is a PC that has enough poke for my current gaming (eg. BF3, Arma2 at reasonable details - doesn't have to be 100 fps ultra high settings), hooking up to 50" 1080p TV, also used as a media "acquirer" & player.

Case would preferably be smallish. Doesn't have to be tiny, but not a large beast of a tower. It's not on display so it doesn't have to be pretty.

Doesn't have to be silent but if possible no louder than a games console or Sky+ box.

I suppose what I have in mind is a Steam box type system but with normal media PC functionality (if that makes sense).

Need to be able to use wireless KB & mouse, and wireless gamepad.

I'm completely open to suggestions and recommendations. My previous builds were all about big, easy to build and upgrade, towers. Plenty of power without a thought given to noise or size. With this build I know I will probably have to sacrifice speed for lower dB and size . Anyway, any help or advise much appreciated.
