    Hi Folks

Just wondering if there are any dishwasher experts out there. I've fixed this yoke before but not 100% sure if its the extraction pump that's faulty.
I came down this morning ( well, my wife did, & then yelled..lol) to see the kitchen was partially flooded with clear water. The last cycle on the dishwasher appears to have failed, ie the pump dident pump the water out. Now, I know what your thinking, blocked pipe. So did I. But after all the cleanup I pulled it out, took down waste water hose and the water started to drain out. I guess this means no block??
Turned it on but did not hear any effort from it to extract the water.
I read about a micro switch sensor that should prevent flooding, this I wonder diden't seem to work? Any idea what this is supposed to do if water levels get too high in the bottom. Actually , perhaps it did stop it as I'd imagine it would continue to pump water in I guess. The machine was 'active' but not actually doing anything. So I guess the switch is working.
SO it may well be the pump.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

    Thanks a lot

    Rich

    Hi Richie

Had a similar problem with a miele. The micro switch is activated when the polystyrene float rises as the water rises at the bottom of the machine ie ( under the main cabinet) and cuts off the pump.

Maybe the micro switch/ polystyrene is stuck/ jammed ? have you looked at it ?

    Hi Dak,

Yes, perhaps it is. I did order a pump , just in case!! I will investigate the mico switch when I get home this evening...It may well be it...
Will keep you posted, thanks for the reply and useful comment too
