Issues charging Galaxy Note 2

    Hey,

So my galaxy note 2's charger block exploded a few weeks ago, my girlfriend was going to use it to charge her iphone (swapped the cables) and when she plugged it in (without phone attached) it went pop, black smoke and everything...

As a replacement, I'm using the cable that came with my phone, but the power block thing that came with my HTC Sensation. The charging is very annoying, it seems to disconnect for the briefest of seconds every minute or two, which makes the screen light up and go beep (as if I had plugged it in for the first time).

I found an old Samsung charger for a digital camera I have, this doesn't do the disconnect thing, but charges ridiculously slowly (I went from ~20% - ~80% in 6 hours, which is really bad).

Any ideas if this signifies an issue with my phone/battery? Or do I just need to pick up a Samsung charger somewhere? I would have though with USB that it wouldn't matter a whit what charger you use, should all be the same, no?

I think I remember reading that the block for our note 2s is 2 amp, and prior older chargers are 1 amp.

Which ties you to their power blocks? Ick... (Although I suppose I can see why, huge battery and all)

Just buy any third part 2A charger. It doesn't have to be Samsung. The charger for the HP Touchpad and most tablets is 2A
