I have a full B and full A licence (Cars and bikes).
While applying for my renewal now i see theres a few that i can tick aslong as i have a full B, for example BE, W, C. C1 etc etc

Now these state that i must hold a full b before taking out a BE permit for example, does that mean i get a leaner permit for BE and i must do a test for them at some stage?

    thanks.

Yes BE is for a trailer and you need to do another test to get it, you might need it depending on the weight of the car and the trailer.
C, C1 etc require a new learner permit and then another driving test and CPC test

Cheers, thought so much. Was going to add them out of handiness, but i have no plans to do a test or anything so its a waste of time. Thanks guil.

OP, if you apply for BE you will get a BE learner permit and yes it would appear you have to sit another test to get the full licence.

Don't forget that you can pull a small trailer on a B license

and that if you do a BE test with a trailer you'd have to get a larger one

    .

Depending on when you got your licence they used to give you these, apart from C. It was around the late 80s early 90s when they stopped giving BE, C1, D1 to people who'd passed the B test. M was removed in 2006. You still get W when you pass B.

C and D where always a separate test, unless you're in your 60's and just ticked a few boxes to get your full licence as there was no test till 1964.
