Has anybody passed it recently? How long we're you out driving for?

Did mine about 3 years ago. The drive is about an hour, 20 mins more than the car/motorbike. To be honest it flies in as you spend more time focusing on the road/position than what the examiner is up to!

Ya about an hour but as said it flies. Make sure to just blank out the tester. Just think of him as friend sitting beside ya. best of luck aswell

I did mine in 2003 and was about an hour. Agree with comments above, just focus on driving well and make planety of (obvious) use of your mirrors. Bet of luck with your test. (Im goin for my EC lessons/test this year).

did the C in tallaght in 2010,drive over in approx 45 mins followed by cpc test about 15 mins although I failed the drive that time so I think the tester cut the test short.

Attempt two in finglas (2011),out for 66mins exactly(passed)in pretty heavy traffic

EC (2012) was also a little over and hour 1hr 10mins approx

Fair play to ya Triple M.. Good going.
I'm starting my journey this year.
Booking my thoery, then the rest as ya know. I'm not sure whether to go with Colliers or ISM.

    Did ya find work?

Ya should go and do your bus test while your at it. Very handy license to have even for weekend work and alot easier industry to get into than the lorries

I did a fas course for the c license and out of our class of 12 half passed half failed, its easy enough once you get used to the routes, but it all depends on how you drive during the test though and the surrounding conditions, you could have a great run or a terrible one

Ya very good license and as I said very easy industry to get into. I passed my test the 2nd of Jan and had a job the 7th of Jan, and the lad im working for now is complaining how he is finding it impossible to get irish bus drivers...
The lorries aren't too bad aslong as you have a good instructer and fairly confident in your driving. But as said extremely hard industry to get into if you have no experience.

That's great man, thanks for the info. I'm a bit disappointed about the lorries being tough to get into. I've always had a childhood dream of being a trucker.

I'll go for the D. Should be passed by march.

Well pm your company details if you like. Tell your boss he'll have an eager Irish bus driver in a few weeks ;)

Have ya done any of the theory tests yet? You would be doing very well to have all done by march.
Don't get me wrong on the lorries, their hard to get into but if you go to some of the bigger crowds like Virginia, Dixon, O'Toole which I know have taken on lads with barely any experience and have them doing europe. Make sure you stay clear of ALL the big transport companys in Wexford. They will give ya a start but pay ya peanuts and make ya bend the rules.
P.M me to where you are based.
Their is a crowd in europe called TopDeck that take on lads with no experience and do the bus test with them and then have ya doing tours around europe and sleeping in hotels at night and getting plenty of tips:D Know a lad who went to work with them and loves it.
