anyone know what parts are necessary to fit aircon into a landcruiser, not the current model, say 04 to 2010 model, could one pick up the compressor etc from scrapper and would there be much involved to fitting it??

I've researched this on other cars in the past, and it never seemed like anything less than the mother of all ballaches. On the upside, Toyota did offer an a/c retrofit pack for reasonable-ish money a few years back - maybe call a dealer and ask?

You could talk to the guys in Roughtrax in the UK; they provide parts for Hilux and Landcruiser models.

You need to be careful with aftermarket units, i've seen one fitted with the coolant lines making it impossible to remove the battery!

From memory, I think the price was €1200 fitted. This was a good few years back, though.
