Yeah, it has been in the air over Nth KK and Nth Tipp for over an hour. Did anyone listen to ATC and get an idea of what is happening?

    Appears to be ex Bucharest

There appears to have been quite a bit of Sun Country activity into and out of shannon of late.

This particular aircraft has been in and out of shannon alot the last few days on military business so i doubt it is maint/repaint related.

Perhaps the weather at Shannon was below what he required and he was holding awaiting an improvement. That did not happen and he diverted to Dublin.

No other flights into Shannon seem to be having problems. And if he was burning fuel for an emergency landing then Shannon has less traffic and a longer runway than Dublin (I think).

This aircraft has been regularly flying between Shannon, Bucharest and various US destinations.

I would also think it is too small to be a troop carrier unlike the Omni flights.

    Protesters at Shannon maybe?

Hardly too small- they've been used many times before in the past. In fact the CMB ICAO code and callsign are used exclusively for troop transport.

True. It is a regular flight to Bucharest via Shannon, almost daily. I assumed that Bucharest is not a destination for many US troops and many larger aircraft go through Shannon.

CMB302 is a US Military Charter for sure, Here is the same aircraft operating a mil charter with a callsign that's alost identical http://www.airliners.net/photo/Sun-Country-Airlines/Boeing-737-8Q8/2154650/&sid=0f859ae18596cb546d78e991fcf3db4d

Dense fog at Shannon. Probably the reason.
