I was taxing a car I've had for years and the tax office told me my registration form needed to be updated first. (The form that says the car is registered in my name) I have the same address now as when I first registered it.

The woman I dealt with wouldn't let me tax the car til she'd sent away the form. That was about 2 weeks ago and I still havn't got it back. Is this standard practice? I've never had any problem taxing it before and I was never even asked for my registration document at the tax office before.

How were the new details different from the old?

They aren't. The woman in the tax office said that as Id had the car taxed in a different county once (2 years ago) it had to be updated. The original address is the same one I live at now and have done for a few years.

Sounds like someone having a bad day tbh.

Takes a couple of weeks to get the logbook back
