Running Injury (Which medical professional should I seek)

    Hey.

I'm looking for some advice. Whilst not look for medical advice, I would appreciate any recommendations regarding an injury picked up running. The pain is just under the left outer ankle and is very slightly swollen. It is sore to walk on never mind run. I'm wondering should I:

    -Rest
    -Go to the Doctor
    -Go to the Physio

The pain has been consistent since Saturday and I am self treating with ice. I'm training for the Connemara Marathon so need to go sorted! This is my first injury after a year of running so a bit unexperienced!

    Thanks

Go see a physio/sports therapist. Best advice is someone who has experience treating runners.

Rest may be part of the treatment prescribed but more often than not in just lets the pain subside without actually tackling the issue of why you got injured and could crop up again.

Think of your body like a car if you see a warning light flash one your are not going to just leave it a few days and then hope when you start it again it will be ok, you will get it looked at, apply the same sensibility to your body
