How do employers view level 8 H.Dip vs level 8 Degree?

    Hi all.

Am considering cross training from business into IT (computer science namely).

On the national qualifications framework a H.Dip is ranked the same as an honours degree (both level 8).

My question to you guys is, how do employers view the two?

Do employers really care about the framework, or are they biased towards how "degree" sounds as opposed to "h.dip"?

I ask this as i have my eye on two courses, one being a traditional Bsc (4 years) and another being a h.dip (1.5 years part time, requiring honours degree for entry).

Thanks for any and all info/opinions

    CC.

Degree sounds better than Higher Diploma.

    Do you like computer science?

You're looking at this in the absolute incorrect way. Look at the job you want and figure out what you need to do to give yourself the best chance to get it.

If they're both level 8 and will get you where you need to go, go do the conversion course/HDIP, it's a no brainer, why wouldn't you?
