Cannabis possession question about limits.

I'm currently expecting a court summons about an incident that happened a couple of weeks ago.

    Basically I got caught with a fair amount of cannabis herb in my car;
-The bulk amount in a container in the back.
-A small baggie I kept in my wallet which I handed over when caught.

All of this was for my own personal use.
What I'm wondering is, because there was so much there (2 ounces)[street value ~ €750] ; will they see it as more than just possession?

Like is there a limit to the amount of cannabis in your possession before it turns into something else?

May be a silly question but I can't seem to find an answer.

    Cheers

I'd take it you'll be charged with possession with intent to supply and simple possession. Two ounces (prob separately wrapped?) would be justification enough.

See a solicitor now, dont wait for a summons to hit and try and build a defence to the large (ish) quantity you had.

And if wasn't separately wrapped, and appeared homegrown, don't be too surprised if your house gets raided sometime soon.

Don't forget to see a solicitor now.

Unless you can come up with a very good justification for a medical need for that amount, like proof of your doctor being aware of your need for large amounts of cannabis, they are going to view that as possession with intent to supply, albeit from a very small time seller at best.

I've also seen cannabis being valued at €20/g lately so don't be surprised if your 56g are valued at more than €750

Another good reason for legalization is the undoubted criminal activity that must surely result from such wild variances in prices around the world.

You can buy 12.5g of tobacco, produced as fit for human consumption for €5 inc vat and excise.

Yet 1g of untested product that takes no more effort to grow, and rarely has transportation costs (i believe most of whats sold now is of irish origin) and produces no government revenue costs €20.

Shows who the winners of prohibition are:)

Yup. Pretty much handing huge amounts of cash to the dealers/middlemen. And at a time when the country could really use the tax revenue.

I friend of mine was caught smoking a joint of weed he had smoked about half of it and then two undercover Gardai stopped and questioned him he admitted to smoking the joint and they took his name and address. They also searched him and found no more weed or hash and they didn't pick up the half joint that was on the ground . Is he likely to get a summons And if so how long will it take has anyone been in this same situation before ?
