i was wondering if anyone knows the correct setting time for padstones poured in situ? i know weather would be a factor, but ive read from between 24 hrs to 2 weeks, pads will be 440 x215 x 225

It depends on the concrete mix design strength. Presumably you intend applying a certain pressure to the padstone...so you (the Project Engineer....) must work out this pressure and compare it to the anticipated allowable compressive stress at 3 days/5 days/7 days etc. From this calculation you can establish at what point it is safe to load the padstone. No different that any other concrete structural element.

Full design strength should be reached by 28 days however this should be confirmed via cube tests.

Thanks. The mix says I need to use 20mm gravel. Does anyone know where this can be bought?

When talking about concrete curing, the standard answer is that concrete reaches 90% of its cured strength in 28 days under normal conditions anything outside of this should be cleared with the professionals designing and certifying works.

We do not allow structural querys here therefore this thread is locked.
