Sportinglife had an article yesterday saying they were "hopeful"

A few lads in the area posting on the Betfair forum reckon it'll take a miracle

    Pity, I was heading

Are you due to head on Friday, Colonel?
Ive never been to Trials day - been to Open meeting 4 times though.
Great card if the prayers are answered.

Rp pg 4 reports it's snow covered and unraceable today. Some Snow due midweek. Positively, track under covers not frozen and milder weather forecast later in week. The BBC weather website is quite accurate so I'd keep an eye there for any thaw if your heading over.

Fingers crossed for Festival Trials Day

Cheltenham clerk of the course Simon Claisse is keeping his fingers crossed that a forecast for improved weather will prove accurate as he looks for a thaw to start ahead of next Saturday's Festival Trials Day card.

    taken from racing post:

Cheltenham odds-on to be off on Saturday

CHELTENHAM needs temperatures to rise this week to stand any chance of staging Saturday's meeting, but Coral's odds compilers are not convinced and make the fixture odds-on to be abandoned.

The course is raceable, but the covers protecting it are covered in snow.
It is set to remain cold with occasional snow until Tuesday with milder weather forecast towards the weekend and rain on Saturday.

Cheltenham tweeted on Monday morning: "Course remains raceable under the covers, but need a thaw to shift the snow on top of the covers."

The meeting - due to feature red-hot Champion Chase favourite Sprinter Sacre and the return of 2010 Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander - is 1-2 to be off and 6-4 to be on with Coral.

It is 8-13 to be cancelled on Betfair and 5-4 to go ahead.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin said: "I wouldn't read too much into the betting at this stage, as the market is very lightly traded.

"But it is a clear indication that the meeting is in some doubt."

I'd be tempted to take the 8/13 that it's called off. If it goes ahead, great. If it doesn't go ahead, at least you've got the consolation of having made a few quid ;)

    8/13?

    Flippin' flip

The 8/13 is well gone now. The market is fairly light but it is 2/5 not to go ahead and 2/1 it will

The bookies probably took a fiver on it

Racing now looking more likely to go ahead.

"Yes" is 1.4 to back & 1.7 to lay on Betfair. "No" is 2.5 to back 2.86 to lay. I'm guessing fair prices are in & around 4/7 Yes, 7/4 No

Around an inch of snow overnight. Still snowing lightly. Will update as and when we have any significant news

    PaddyPower tweeted this
We've cut Sprinter Sacre into 1/5 from 2/9 for the VC Chase this Saturday after taking a £50k bet from one punter not worried about snow!

Bobs Worth out and Tidal Bay slightly lame and unlikely to run

Without going mad altogether..you would have to say grans crus and hunt ball have a chance now with both the principals out..if imperial commander maintains even 70% of his ability .maybe he could win..
I like wayward prince 20's and midnight chase but their age has my doubts..

I wouldn't back Grands Crus with someone else's money

It really is a difficult one to call though. Have a look at the age profile of all the horses in the race. Many veterans..
Wayward prince and midnight chase are very generously priced but their age and weight conceding to grans crus and hunt ball would have to open the door for these 2.

Passed inspection today. They're taking another precautionary look tomorrow but 10s on to race on Betfair so I'll "chance" travelling

Hot looking juvenile hurdle tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if expensive buy Last Shadow actually tries (got a disgraceful ride last time) or is getting handicapped for the Fred Winter.

Tidal Bay has been declared but no idea if he runs.

Coneygree takes on The New One.

Oscar Whisky runs in the Cleeve so could be a very interesting each way race.

To be honest I hope he doesn't stay again tomorrow as I would love to see him run in the Ryanair. I would be all over him for the Ryanair unless Flemenstar runs in it.

I would also be inclined to give Oscar whiskey another chance at 3m but I won't be backing him tomorrow at the price. He is a class above this lot and that might get him there alone!!

I just watched that ride there on Last Shadow, surely McCoy should have been done for that. Blatent non trier.

The New One should be too good tomorrow.

As blatant a schooling ride as you'll see

No fear of one of the big boys being done unfortunately

Although they often play the "big baby 1st time over hurdles card"

10/11 The New One. Thought he'd be shorter than that.
