water on the inside of windscreen

I have a 08 Skoda Octavia Combi and on a few occasions I have noticed in the morning that the inside of the windscreen is quite wet - when I say wet I mean all condensation, which means I either use a cloth to clear the windscreen or turn on the heaters for a few minutes before driving off to clear it. This morning after the frost, the inside windscreen had rivulets of water running down the inside of the glass, along with the frost on the outside starting to thaw. I'm wondering if this is normal or is there a problem that needs to be addressed. I've had a new windscreen fitted a few months ago due to a crack in the old one, but the problem was also occurring on the old windscreen. Any help/advice/tips/solutions greatly appreciated. Cheers

If theres condensation inside the car it means there is damp somewhere. A very common cause is a cabin filter that needs to be changed. Its a service item, but sometimes doesn't get replaced.

You also need to remove the damp thats now in the car, you can get small dehumidifiers in shops like dealz for a couple of euro

Not a cure, if there's something blocked causing it, but in the meantime, when you wipe off the condensation, remove the cloth/sponge from the car. Put a tray of dry rice under the seats to absorb moisture too. Next fine day, give it a good spin with all the windows down.

Do you have air intake set to recycle or fresh air... if not set to fresh air & if have air conditioning use with heater (acts as dehumidifier) hope helps!

Cold air gets sucked into the car overnight and rests on smooth surfaces like the glass. This could be because the car gets damp from an old filter or a leaky door or water gets trapped.
Always drive with the heat on and preferably pointed at the windscreen (you'd be surprised of the number of people driving around without the fans on) to dry car out.

As said above, clean the drains and also replace the cabin pollen filter. They're cheap and it probably needs doing anyway.

Also get on the floor and check the carpets for wet spots.
In my experience, a lot of the time when windows in a car are constantly fogged up and will not clear, a leak is present somewhere.
In that case you will have to find the leak, lift up the carpets, stuff some rags or newspaper under them and put a blowheater in the car for a few hours.
Fixing a leaking car can be heartbreaking.

I have a similar problem but only happens sometimes. Would that be normal?
