Connecting flight through Amsterdam Schiphol

    Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience getting a connecting flight through Amsterdam Schiphol from Dublin to another non-Schengen country?

I'm hoping to go Dublin - Buenos Aires through this route in April with a 1 hour 20 minute connection time. The flights are both with KLM and will be booked through their site so it should be just one ticket. They obviously feel it's time enough if you can book it, but does anyone with experience of the airport think that I could be cutting it too fine?

    Thanks.

Schiphol is contained enough and easy to find your way around. Do you know which 'concourse' you leave from?

If the worst comes to the worst and you look like it's going to be close, tell the cabin crew on your flight from Dublin and they will have a man with a little buggy there to take you on a death-defying drive to your next gate.

In one out of five transfers through Schiphol my baggage followed me on the next day's plane, so spare pair of jocks/drawers in the hand luggage mightn't be a bad idea.

I don't have recent experience of such a connection. But AMS is one of the better places to connect, IMHO, you can walk between gates without getting on buses and the like. I'd be content with 1h20 or anything over the hour.

Actually last time I went through Schiphol I didn't get my bag for 48 hours, although I think they lost it at the destination.

Its a breeze, all contained in one building.

I did that route end of July. Was worried about the short connection time but it was a short walk to the connection all within the same building. Just note what number area the flight departs from and it is signposted where to go! Easy peasy

Yea I did it to Shanghai a few times with just over an hour between flights. No problem, as said, easy to find your way around that airport.

Im not sure if it makes that much difference, but I used to ask them about checking me in, onto the connecting flight, when checking in at the first flight.
