Looks like the gun from Men In Black.

Despite being a lefty loony pinko PC etc., I couldn't help but think 'fair play to them for kicking the shit out of the bastard'.

Yeah apparently the gun misfired, a serious bit of luck on the part of the politician, certain death like.

Who's attacking him? Other politicians? Looks very bad for the Bulgarian image.

A Bulgarian politician today survived an extraordinary assassination attempt when a man stormed the stage and held a gun to his head as he was giving a speech.
Fortunately for Ahmed Dogan, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, the weapon misfired giving him time to react and hit the would-be assassins hand out of the way.

No they don't, why not just arrest him, no need for all of them to start kicking him.

Hardly the same thing, plenty of security there, no need for the kicking imo.

It is people like who make the world a much more dangerous place to live in.
Your making out that a man who just pointed a gun to another mans head with full intent to kill him is the victim? Simply because he got knocked around a little? You people and your bloody rights.

Get real. Fact is he will probably live a comfy life in jail.

i didn't see much security there?,if fact isn't that your argument that there isn't enough security in the video?

I don't get why they didn't give the poor chap with the gun a glass of water or something after, I mean getting up on stage and pulling out a gun like that must have been very stressful for the poor guy.

I'd guess his plan was to put a bullet in his own head afterwards. There's a back street gun dealer somewhere sh1ting himself right now.

If that happened here Gerry Adams would have shown him how to fix the gun

I never said he was a victim, I said there was no need for all the kicking. I have no idea what you mean with this line.

Fair play to anyone who got a kick or a punch in at the wannabe assassin.
Delighted to see him get a hiding.
He was fully prepared to spill the other mans brains over the podium only for the gun jammed.

Leaving aside what the man may or may not deserve, the fact is that they should have focused less on hitting him and more on making sure his arms and legs were properly pinned. Taking shots like that might make them feel like big men but it does little to keep the situation under control. What if he had a knife, or second gun? What if there was another assassin as backup? The goal should be to completely neutralize the threat as quickly as possible and keep him that way; trying to simply hurt him shows a lack of priorities.

I agree 100%, didn't seem too concerned he could have had a suicide vest on or had other weapons on him.

Even if they restraint him better, people still would have cracked a few digs at him,and rightly so.He had no respect or regard for the safety of the people there and why should they have respect for him?

Your trying to take the focus off a brazen assassination attempt by focusing on what happened to the shooter afterwards.

    On a background story.
Ahmet Dogan is the leader of the Turkish political party in Bulgaria - which are like a mafia - and he is an outright criminal, he robbed so many families of what was theirs and made millions on others' backs, people were left on the street, without a penny.. There's a lot more people who would wish him dead.

I could be wrong but I'd imagine there was a fair bit of panic & hysteria surrounding the whole thing.
Fcuk him. He can't expect a controlled situation when he was waving a loaded gun in someone's face. He caused it.

They should have respected the potential threat the man still posed; I could only see one person making a serious attempt to hold him down (the Vladimir Putin lookalike), and even then the man's arms and legs were still free. I'm not going to condemn them for not thinking straight in a volatile situation, but they should hardly be praised for being dumbasses either.

they might not have used the best tactic, but they certainly kept him restraint.
