Electric heating cost efficiency

I have 2 Quartz Electronic timed instant electric heaters in the bedrooms in my apartment. I was wondering what the most cost effective way of using these are.

For example I have tried leaving them set at 21 degrees for the whole day. And then also have them set a bit higher for various intervals throughout the day just to take the chill out of the room. I realise that these are an expensive appliance to run so more often than not iv just got them switched off.

Has anyone any experience in how i should have them set?

That really would depend on your own personal requirement. You would probably want them on for an hour before you get up and until a half hour after maybe then 2 half hour periods during the day and then maybe an hour in the evening also crank up the temperature. Its like everything you need to find your own comfort zone
