Just an idea from the soccer forum, where they choose a team, which I believe is in the lower league of Dutch football.

Everyone here seems to have a team to follow in the NFL, but now so much in the college ranks.

Thought maybe we could come together and try to get behind one team and discuss games, new recruits and the likes.

If there is not interest then no harm done but if there is then happy days :D

If you want a potentially fun ride for a non BCS team next year I'd suggest the Utah State Aggies. Have a very exciting QB called Chuckie Keeton who is a monster dual threat and a lot of fun to watch. They are @ USC and @ Utah early next season and most of their games should be available on ESPN College Pass.

Anyway, that would be my submission.

If your looking at a non BCS team Id agree with Lucky Llyod Utah State is a great shout.

Id add Western Kentucky as another suggestion. Upcoming program came from FCS got absolutely battered for the first few years in 1AA finally came good last season with a bowl appearance and things look very promising in their future. Could be the next Boise who knows.

As a Hawaii Warriors fan I already support a non BCS team so obviously Id suggest you all support them aswell :pac:

Boise the obvious one if your looking at a BCS Buster. Love that they are staying in the MWC instead of the Big East

Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns would be my shout, excellent high powered offense will ensure plenty of points and exciting games.

    I'd second Boise State!

Boise State should be automatically ruled out on the basis that it's impossible to watch their home games due to that horrendous blue field. :pac:

I'm the opposite, I've a college team (ok, teams plural when the Iron Bowl isn't on) but no NFL team! Good idea to get people engaged with college football, though.

Syferus, have a look on the west coast San Diego,Big things happening, going to take over next year ;)

    I'll take the Maryland Terrapins

They changed conference this year but I don't know a whole lot about it.
Though I think a lot of that was to do with basketball, not just football!

    Time to read up

Need to find a small school

Ye the idea is to support a smaller school as a group. With american football getting bigger and bigger it would be a good area for people to start watching college football. How the recruiting system works and the bowl games.

Also with there being so many college teams there is a much wider spread of support among the teams

Can I take the Montana Grizzlies?

Nevada, just so you can watch Cody Fajardo or Louisiana Tech for Kenneth Dixon. I'm a sucker for liking teams due to their players.

    Boardsie State lol

I'm totally behind this idea, I have fleeting intrests in USC and Notre Dame due to spending a summer in Huntington Beach and the Emerald Isle Classic, but don't really follow a team. My one condition is that if I support them, I would like to be able to get a jersey at some stage down the road.

I did a thing last year where everybody got a team. It was looking like the NFL might not get going at all so I just random.org'd teams and gave teams out as people came and asked for them.

I don't think you could have one team for all boardsies to follow as a lot of us already have teams we follow. I am a big Notre Dame fan but my first team is the UMass Minutemen. They are trying to improve their program right now and moved their home games to Gillette last season.

It was a very successful tactic of mine in College Fantasy Football to pick the defence of whoever was playing UMass last year. Sorry! :o

I've only watched them once in a bowl game last season but regardless I give them the +1 because they have an awesome name

Ragin Cajuns sounds brilliant... I know they're a bit above the station of what's being considered here, but I'd like to offer up the California Golden Bears for consideration... They've had a couple of losing seasons recently and fired the most successful coach in their history in Jeff Tedford, so they're ripe for a total revamp... or a complete and utter collapse, either way it'll be interesting times. Former alma mater of Aaron Rodgers, DeSean Jackson, Ryan Longwell, Tony Gonzalez and Marshawn Lynch... Keenan Allen looks like he'll be a first round draft pick this year, so he could be another one to add to that illustrious list in years to come..... And their jersey is absolutely gorgeous too :) Maybe throw up a poll, see how the result goes, come up with a forum/site-wide decision?? I need yet more teams in different sports to follow to distract me from the crushing boredom that daily life offers here sometimes!!!!
