My Crucial M4 128GB is still going strong a year and a half later :)

Like any product there are good models and bad models/good makes and bad makes.

I would highly recommend getting a 120/128GB SSD, 60/64 will disappear in no time, especially considering 20GB is automatically taken up by Windows.

HWVS has Sandisks for 80euro I think, but shipping for one item isn't worth it. I'd say wait for a deal on Amazon.

Got a SanDisk a while back for 100 quid, they're cheaper now for 128. They're brilliant, hands down the greatest PC upgrade I've done. But keep a mind on the speeds when buying. The read/write speed varies greatly depending on the drive.

Regarding lifetime, they don't last forever and they don't die after a week. I've mine 6 months only, so can't really judge yet.

Just a sidenote, do not defrag an SSD. SSD have a lifetime based on X amount reads/writes. Performing a defrag with cause thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of miniature reads/writes to the drive, getting it ever closer to that X amount it can perform. So defragging reduces the lifetime of the drive.

I usually drop this blog whenever the SSD lifespan question arises, much like a CPU chances are you will be replacing an SSD for upgrade/performance reasons long before it actually reaches the physical end of its life.
