Going to Florida for 12 days during summer along with spending 5 days in Chicago with family.

Going with girlfriend and looking for advice asto what to do or where to go?

Is it too much to fit both Florida and Miami into the 12 days.

will probably do the adventure parks and Disneyland but not sure where else to go or what to do.

Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated ?

Do you mean Orlando & Miami

Also it's Disneyworld in Florida ;)

12 days is more than enough to do the theme parks in Orlando, see what Miami has to offer, and also have some down time at one of the beach resorts. Am a big fan of the Gulf Coast myself. The beaches of the Clearwater area are just gorgeous. The water on the Gulf beaches is warm and the surf is gentle, unlike the beaches of the Atlantic coast where the water can be quite cold and choppy & going for a swim can be quite dangerous and a bit of a chore really. Also, consider checking out the Florida Keys and/or the Space Coast at Cape Canaveral too, if you are a space/astronomy/science buff.

For all its fame as a tourist destination, there is not a ton to see or do in downtown Miami, unless you are a big fan of the party/club scene. Downtown Miami is actually quite dull. There are some great tours of the private islands and mega mansions in the harbour that depart from the downtown marina, but that's about it really. South Beach is cool, as is Little Havana, but they may not be every ones cup of tea.

As another poster said, Disneyland and Disneyworld are two totally different resorts. Disneyland is in California. DisneyWorld is in Florida. So if you are doing any online bookings, make sure that you know which one you are booking for.

Recommend Daytona beach, great vibe there. Look up the Ocean Deck bar, right on the beach. Great spot.

We were in Orlando in September for 12 days. Spent the whole time in the different parks, one day in Busch Gardens, one day at Kennedy Space Centre and could have done with more time there. I would recommend seeing the Blue Man Group if you are in Orlando - they were brilliant. There is great shopping in Orlando too.

If you're going to Disney world, do epcot, and universal studios too. There are also some water parks.
Would highly recommend going to Quay West (?) On southernmost tip of florida. It's all walkable once you're there. Beautiful little town, the Hemingway museum and quieter beaches than Miami. South Beach in Miami is Also very pretty with some nice cocktail bars.

Was in Florida over Christmas, took an overnight trip with Florida Dolphin Tours which took us to the Everglades, Miami overnight and swimming with dolphins in Key Largo - was absolutely fantastic and great value too.

We took in Cape Canaveral on another day trip, did a day in Busch gardens and spent the rest of our trip in Disney parks, Universal, Islands of Adventure and Sea World. We had 11 nights, it was hectic but we loved it!
