Nipple covers - do they work?

I've never used these things, but I've got a wedding coming up where I'll be wearing a backless dress and I'm wondering should I try to "cover up". I normally just go braless, but I'll be in the official photos and don't want to be all....pointy. :o

It's not the kind of dress I can really wear anything over except a pashmina-style thing so I am anticipating being COLD in the pictures if they are outside or in the church. :D So would nipple covers solve this do you think?

I bloody well hope so! I have a wedding next month and I'm anticipating the pointy issue myself :o I'm planning to pick some up in Debenhams over the weekend and see if they're any use, so I can report back to you then :)

If anyone can recommend a decent place to get them, that'd help; I'm just assuming Debenhams will have some. Or M&S, probably.

Yep, they absolutely do work - they're a godsend!

I used to get mine in La Senza, which is obviously with us no longer :(. I'd imagine Debenhams would be a safe enough bet alright.

Super, thanks! I'll try the usual places for some.

I'd say they're also the kind of thing the likes of Topshop/Miss Selfridge would have in their little random sections up near the till.

Yeah, I'll have a look around. I don't mind paying for a decent brand (M&S, Debenhams) if it means I don't have sticky residue left on me bewbs afterwards ;)

No, I just can't stand wearing strapless bras! I hate the feeling of needing to "hoik" all the time. :pac: No, these are like little sticky things that literally just cover your nipples so it's not so obvious you aren't wearing a bra. Can I just ask - will droopage not be significant? Definitely proving that you are not wearing a bra? I think that I'd hate droopage just as much as needle nipples...

    Nah, I'm perky ;)

Seriously, I've worn the dress before and it looks fine. It's not that I don't want people to know I'm not wearing a bra, it's just as a bridesmaid I don't want the official pictures to be something that people might be pointing and laughing at, so to speak, if it's really obvious! I'll probably take the covers off after the outdoor pics.

Droopage is not an issue when you're flat as a pancake :(

I used to use plasters, you know the kinda gel ones that stick all around (for some reason I think they are "super heal" or "burn" ones or something like that) and they worked really well. Never came off with sweating (had a pint over me - by accident - and those buggers didn't move) and were really smooth under my top. They didn't hurt coming off either because the non sticky part was the bit the lay against the nipple itself (I left them on until the next morning a few times, thought I would de-nipple myslef but all still intact!) and any residue just came off in the shower. I haven't worn them in ages but they were cheap, cheerful and there were quite a few in the pack.

The boobies than got bigger and I am no longer comfortable not wearing a bra in public, esp special occasions, so all tops must now be accompanied by reinforced bras that could hold up small bridges!

Only place in Cork that seemed to have them was La Femme. These are re-usable silicon ones so hopefully they will do the trick.

I thought Ann Summers would definitely have them, but I guess they are more in the business of accentuating rather than hiding the nipples. :pac:

I couldn't find any in Debenhams on Saturday, but I was in a bit of a rush. I should have asked a shop assistant!

I asked in Debenhams too and they said they had some in but they sell out really fast!
