had an interview internally yesterday for a higher position in a different department, i work in a large international company with almost 1000 staff in the building so have never met the two managers that interviewd me before, its my first ever internal interview...should i send a thank you email

Can't see that a short "thank you, was great to meet you, hope to speak to you in the future" type mail can hurt.
