How long is a piece of string?

No one here can give you a definite answer. There are many variables to consider. I would try ringing around.

Try 4thelads.ie if you don't mind paying ridiculous excess.

I think you will find liberty named on your dads ins for the first year the best Ingot quotes from 4companys and they beat all to put my 19 yr old son named on my policy by 3 or 4 hundred euro try the liberty ins for a quote for yourself they will still be cheapest. But it is expensive to get started get your full licence as soon as possible, best of luck,,,

Me and my mother are insured in the 1.1 C3 for 900euro or something. Don't know the excess but Im the same as you- 18, preovisional etc.

As a new driver just get something small, 1.1/2. There's no point driving something ridiculous for your first car to pay crazy insurance. Save the big cars for when you pass your test and you have a few years NCB.
