I was browsing the TV listings in a daily newspaper yesterday when I noticed that string of digits after the programme synopsis - the videoplus+ code.

It's at least 5 years since I typed them into a VCR eventhough I've occasionally used the VCR since then, right up to ASO, using the timer instead of the plus codes as I'd simply forgotten about videoplus.

The RTÉ Guide still carries them, maybe for the remaining analogue cable customers.

Have they any future or are they simply a waste of ink post ASO?
