April Jones missing girl

There was a good thread on this but it was locked. So mark Bridger has pleaded not guilty but his defence have said he is probably responsible for her death. I wonder did he knock her down and panic? I certainly don't think he murdered her

I got the impression he had murdered her but was going to claim he wasn't responsible due to insanity or something. Just a guess though.

I think he murdered her. He's had enough time now to show remorse and explain what happened yet has decided to stay quiet. If it was an accident I reckon he'd have come clean by now. As for being insane or not.. well no right minded person would kill a child and refuse to disclose the location of the body.

I agree, there was a theory floating around he hit her in his 4x4 and panicked, I dunno but there's something very strange about everything (e.g. no sign of a body 3 months later despite capturing him 1 day later , etc etc)

Depends oh how it happened. He could have just been sitting there hoping it all went away.

I'd say (I'll assume it's an accident) that it takes a lot of guts to own up to something like that. I'd like to think most people (Including myself) would do it, but I can see how others would panic. And the longer it takes, the harder it would be.

But I have to admit, I know nothing about the case, I'm just talking hypotheticals here.

If he knocked her down, there would be forensic evidence to show that ?

My heart breaks whenever I see a photo of her, I cant imagine the torture her parents are going through. She's my daughters age and the whole story just really upsets me.

I just seen on sky news that they had a funeral with a horse drawn carriage for april today in her home town.

Did they find her body or was it just a memorial service?

Tiny fragments of April Jones’ bones will be handed back to her heartbroken family so they can bury her in a final goodbye.

Small bits of a skull, almost certainly belonging to her, were found smouldering in the wood-burning fire at Bridger’s cottage.

They have been analysed by forensic experts and are the only lasting physical reminder of the tragic schoolgirl.

Det Supt Andy John said: “It’s a matter for the coroner and I will be speaking to him in Powys.

"My hope is we will be able to allow the family some sort of closure in terms of a burial. That’s a factor we have had to consider very carefully.”

Police broke the news to April’s parents their daughter was probably dead on just the second night she was missing.

Christ that's heartbreaking, I'm glad they got to have the ceremony but to only be able to bury tiny bone fragments of their little girl is just.... I can't even find the words.

This makes me sad, then very angry.

Why why why, no words can describe what an excuse this thing that carried this out is.

Cant even imagine how precious those fragments are to the family and how sad it is that this is all that remains of her. Jail is to kind a sentence for some people.
