I had this bag for about 3 years and I love it. Unfortunately main zipper broke recently and I can't use it anymore. I've checked Lowepro website and zippers are excluded from lifetime warranty.
Does anyone know where can I fix it or can I order original zip from Lowepro and bring it somewhere locally to have it replaced?
    Thanks

You could buy a replacement zip and bring it to your local
shoe repair shop they should be able to stitch a new zip in for
    you!

Only on the photography forum could a fifty pound backpack be considered cheap.

Don't get me wrong, that's not a personal attack on you, but it says a lot about how high-priced the majority of the kit is. I'd say any way you can save cash on this hobby or profession is worth looking into.

I would normally agree with you on this, but if you go to a sports store, you would pay the same for a Nike bag. And a simple one at that.

I have a lowepro and they are really well designed for DSLR lens and camera and are very weather proof. Those sections that can be moved around to custom fit you own gear are perfect .
So I guess, I would pay a little extra myself . Simply because when you are out and about and dealing with a cheaper bag that is going horribly wrong, I would be wishing I spent that little bit more on a lowpro.

Well you have to remember they are made of particularly strong material to protect the equipment, and also that they are selling to a smaller market than say sports bags, and thus manufacturing costs will be higher. It is inaccurate to thing of these as just bags, they are specialist kit as much as anything in the bag.

Still though I remember being horrified the first time I went to buy a Lowepro bag. :p

The zip went on my 5 year old Lowepro bag a few months ago and I brought it into Vance's Shoe repairers in Bray. The guy said it may cost 30 euro to fix. I left it with him and when I went to collect it he had fixed it and charged me only 4 euro. He had expertly sewn the broken part of the zip back together. A tip for zips is to spray them regularly with furniture polish to prolong their life.

I've tried few shops and everyone is saying the same thing, replacement zip is not a problem but the bag wont fit under the machine.

Must try that shop in Bray.

Well I know it's "only" 50 pounds but my bag is perfect apart from a split zipper. I was hoping I could just change the zip and voilà, job done.

Anyway, I bought a National Geographic bag other day to keep me going.
I also got a replay from Lowepro, they don't wanna hear about it since the zips are exluded from lifetime warranty.
