Halford's have a good range: the full coverage ones look good (I have an older set from Halfords on the fixie and they have been great). Don't remember the price tho.

    Thanks for reply.
Just checked halfords website, very surprised they've left reviews up like these!

After reading and listening to the tales of woe associated with fitting mudguards I took my bike into the LBS and asked them to supply and fit the mudguards for me.

I'm glad I did. They told me my bike was a complete nightmare and they had to fashion special fittings to hold it secure. I've had no rubbing and there is very little rattle of them. The only thing that I don't like is the colour of them. Grey isn't my favourite colour and nothing on my bike matches them. Luckily I don't think it breaks any of the rules

I've used SKS Chromoplastics on multiple bikes and never had an issue.

I've the sks longboard on my new commuter, they go a LONG way down on the front wheel, almost touching the ground. Commuted for a week with these and there's not a spot of dirt on frame despite a couple of wet spins.
Had to do a bit of magic to go around the front disc brake mount though is all the problems I had ....

guys, any recommendations for a rear mudguard to stop wheel spray ? not looking for long 'guards or anything, just something that could be attached to the seatpost perhaps

I'm looking for something like this too. Something that clips on and off would be great. This?

If you regularly go out with a cycling club or even with your mates...please get FULL mudguards. Those clipon ones are fine for keeping the spray off your butt, but do feck all for the other guys in the group!

Full mudguards look ****e though...:(. If I could get ones that I can take off easily when its dry I'd get them...

Then you're looking for race blades, but word of warning-use a bit of tape on your frame before attaching, as they will leave a mark eventually on the seat stay and forks

Full mudguards only on club spins. I use Cruds as they are the only one's that fit my Canyon's tight clearance. I do get the impression (or maybe thats the impression that Crud want to give) that they're only meant to last a season or two given how flimsy they are. I've just ordered yet another part - I've snapped 2 front blades and worn out the rear(yes the plastic wears if rubbing against the tyre) this winter.

Relatively cheap to replace a part but they should be made strong enough, given the price, to last longer.

I'm not in a club and I don't have any mates. I just want to keep wheel spray from ruining my clothes while I commute to work ALONE. Any recommendations welcome

Raceblades are the best of a bad lot. I find any "minimal" mudguard that clamps to the seatpost etc. keeps your arse dry. Thats about it!. The rest of you (including your bike) will get soaked.

    Its full mudgurads or nothing.
