    Hi Guys,

Got an interview coming up for an operations analyst role in Bank of America. Anybody know what the company is like to work for - salary, benefits ect. Is there long working hours? Any particular advice or tips for the interview?

Hey, I worked in an operations role of Merrill Lynch a few years ago and hated it. For me in particular, I didn't like working for a huge American multinational. I disliked everything about the place and i would consider myself pretty easy going. I stayed for nearly 2 years and whilst I worked with some lovely people, the general atmosphere and morale was pretty low. I haven't looked back since I left the place. I feel if you really want to get ahead in the investment banking game then you should go to London or New York, in Dublin it is mainly middle office or back office operations roles and not very exciting. Apologies for the poor review, that was my experience.

What did you do after you left? Did u go abroad?

I worked for a large now closed American Investment bank, one thing is holidays, 4th of July you will be in another normal day but workload will be nil as America is all off. Paddy's day etc not a holiday in US don't expect the day off.

    Hi JMB88

I used to work for them too. They have a high turn over of staff for the obvious reasons. I stayed for 2 years and that was enough for me. The money wasn't great and I found Monday to Friday I had no life. This was an issue echoed by my colleagues. (Plus wave goodbye to bank hols, paddy s day etc)
I would only consider this this role if you need to make a start in Banking and need the experience! On the plus side, you will never complain about another job again once you have done your time there! Pm me if you need more details!
