    Hi All,

Myself and a friend are in the process of starting up our own Product Promotion Company.
Our first job is to promote a new drink(non alcoholic) on college grounds and in the college bar for one day.
There will be 4 promotional staff on site which are the 2 company owners(myself and friend) and 2 staff that are also friends of ours.
What insurance would we need to have in place? Can the 2 staff technically sign a form advising they are doing it at their own risk etc?

    PD

public liability would be my guess ... due to the fact that the promotions people may get injured or injure someone during the course of their work,.... assuming you have permission from the college to operate !!

Yes permission is given to operate provided we pay a fee of €150 for a permit for the day.
Where is the best place to go for Public Liability Insurance?

With that sort of fee have you checked to see if they are covering you?

No they are not covering us. The terms and conditions of being allowed on campus as well as the fee are:
"all visitors seeking a permit are required to
produce proof that they possess their own Public Liability Insurance and a valid tax clearance cert where applicable."

To be honest It is only a one day event - I do not even have an idea how much it would be for insurance for that length of time.

Sorry to point out the bleeding obvious but maybe just ring a few and get some quotes - I'm sure if there are other types of insurance you need they'll try and flog them to you.

That said you should of course get proper advice.

Good luck with the new venture!
