Changing Drs on disability benefit

    Can someone please tell me if its possible to change Drs on disability benefit.
    I have been on disability for a few years now on monthly certs, but in recent
    months i am not happy with my Dr.
    Do I just go to another Dr or do i have to stick with the current one as they
    have a member number on the cert i have to provide monthly.

    no you can change, i presume you have a medical card? If so just go to the new doctor, fill out the form they have at reception to change doctors.
    If you are private, just leave!

    If your on Disability why do you have to get certs ?

    Yes you can change Drs, you just have to find a GP that will accept you on their clinic. Give drs in yr area you have heard good things about a call, they might have a space free.
    You need a "Change of GP" form, maybe your health centre might have these. or welfare.ie. I know they exist as I was in the same predicament and a medical specialist got me one. Good luck with it
