Emigration looming :(

    Hi All,

I'm going to cut to the chase. I have met this amazing girl, she is like no other girl I have ever been attracted to, she is smart, beautiful and any time we have been together we have sat and chatted for hours at a time and not even realised the time going by. Both of us have confided in each other stuff we haven't told other people before.

I have realised I am falling in love with her and we are not together we just meet up and go on dates (dinner, movies, drinks etc.). I find myself wanting to get into a proper relationship with this girl.

Everything had been going really well with her up until she told me she plans to emigrate in a years time.

I am falling for her but now I am scared to say anything about wanting more with her because I am worried she won't want to get into a relationship with me if she is emigrating.

I think she senses that I am a little taken aback with this news and she has kind of stepped back and is creating a distance between us. I would never ask her not to go because it is her chance to build a better future for herself

Should I tell her how I feel? Would the relationship be doomed?

Can anyone offer this poor fool some advise :(

Hey. I would tell her how you feel. I had a boyfriend that I met and the same thing happened, he said he was emigrating about ten months from when we met. I went for it anyway and he eventually emigrated 2 years later. We did long distance for a year and a half and that was surprisingly easy to do. It didn't work out but not or that reason.

Basically what I'm saying is, you never know how things will work out. Is there any chance of you moving abroad too at any point, if it were to work out? Or might she change her mind? A year is a long time. I guess it might depend on what ages you are too.

Best thing you can do is tell her it's on your mind. Because if you don't say anything and you keep holding back she will end up feeling frustrated and rejected maybe. Let her know, and I wish you well!
