Boys and Girls, are there any disadvantages in the 2.8 jap import over an original Irish 2.8? Especially any things to watch out for if buying the jap?

Are parts different or the same? I think I read somewhere that filters are different in the jap imports???

    Thanks all.

PS Am wondering about a 2.8 jap import on done deal. Limerick area. €950 but never bought import before.

Look for rust on the ladder frame. Mine was starting to crumble from caked on mud.

The 2.8L has a problems with crank pulley, mainly parts are the same- mechanically

Import is more likely to have more bells & whistles so you'll probably get more for your money. Conversely, that also means there's more to break :D But they're a pretty reliable machine and most parts are handy come by.

Nice Pajero. Pajero with that type wheel arch has drive by wire accelerator with fuel pump ECU. Make sure that pump and injectors are OK as can be very expensive to repair.
