Only Clermont have scored 4 or more tries in Exeter and only Clermont and Northampton have scored 4 or more tries against Exeter in an away game for Exeter.

After the Leinster game Exeter have two LV Cup games.

It won't be easy to get the try bonus!

Fair play to you. A fellow Leinster fan has a friend in JWT who reported not long ago that there were only 45 booked with them - day trip was pricey, but I was tempted.

I'd be tempted - it's an all or nothing game, with the odds stacked against us. Exactly the type of game you want to be going as a supporter. Unfortunately I'm broke!

  • Have now decided I am going to this.

Going to drive down to Bristol on Fri after work and set a base there. Then drive to match Saturday and back to Bristol after.

Anyone needing lifts from Bristol at about 2pm can send me a PM.

EDIT: Just realised I've no tickets. Should probably sort that before committing to giving lifts!

Hmmm, return flights to Cardiff maybe

Maybe I was a bit harsh earlier on Exeter, but I do think ye'll get the 4 tries with ease. Hopefully both Munster & Leinster will get the last 2 slots.

Enjoy the match anyone who is going over - the only downside is you may not know for sure if you have qualified even after the game.

Are Exeter a good team these days?

Out of interest, anyone know a good sports bar in Kuala Lumpur that'd show live, or at least scheduled delayed coverage of Heinken cup matches?

Get onto the Leinster supporters club, they are putting together a list of places round the world who will show matches, so fans can congregate.

I'm on a stag in Wroclaw that weekend and it seems nowhere there has sky sports :( would have liked to see Leinster and Munster games

They're decent, had a great run in the premiership in the first half of the season, and no one except Clermont and Quins have scored 4+ tries against them in Exeter. It'll be an extremely tough nut to crack and we need 4+ tries no matter what.

Hopefully with nothing but pride to play for, MAX THEY CAN GET IS 14 which wouldn't be enough for the AMLIN imo and a few winnable games to get them into the top 4 of the premiership coming up while other teams lose players for the 6N their minds will be elsewhere.

    Tough but doable.

Are Sky going to change their schedule and show this game or are they sticking with the Clermont game? Surely this game would pull the higher numbers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

At the end of Sky's broadcast they showed the upcoming games and the Leinster/Exeter was the game on the main channel, Clermont game on the red button

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭John83

Fair enough. I missed the end of the broadcast and checked the TV guide which still has the Clermont/Scarlets game on it. Also saw a tweet about it late last night from OLSC saying they were contacting Sky (presumably to clarify).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Heading to Bristol on the 8am myself. OLSC bus down to Exeter then. Was chatting to a few of the OLSC folk on Saturday and they reckon there's around 1,000 Leinster fans due at the game. Would like to have more of us there to make some real noise, but sure we'll give it a go anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

I'm considering doing it. Not sure if there's space on the bus from Bristol though (I'd have to get the train there)

Might as well get a bit of game chat going. Hopefully we'll be able to field:

    1. Healy
    2. Strauss
    3. Ross
    4. Cullen
    5. Toner
    6. O'Brien
    7. Jennings
    8. Heaslip

    9. Boss
    10. Sexton
    11. Fitzgerald (damn I missed typing that)
    12. D'Arcy
    13. O'Driscoll
    14. Nacewa
    15. R. Kearney

    16. Cronin 17. Van Der Merwe 18. Bent 19. McLoughlin 20. Ruddock 21. Reddan 22. Madigan 23. D.Kearney

Barring second row, that would pretty much be full strength (at last!) A nervous wait on a few niggles though. BOD gone for a scan today, so fingers crossed.

Locky as the backup lock? Interesting, but he hasn't locked down a scrum all season has he?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,193 ✭✭✭[Jackass]

No, but only other option is Denton, who's looked as bout as useful as Reddan would be in the second row this season.

KMcL has been a complete liability in the row in the past. I think if any of our 2nd rows are fit, they'll be in the team.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,193 ✭✭✭[Jackass]

You're probably right. I know the McLoughlin experiment didn't really work out, but I thought it would be better to have our best players benching and hope to get away with it rather than have specialist cover in there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

    Any word on Browne's arm/shoulder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

If I had more confidence in our 2nd rows lasting the entire game I think it'd be a great opportunity to put McLoughlin and Ruddock/Murphy on the bench to completely freshen up our 2nd row. That'd completely overwhelm Exeter who've been handing over the breakdown in the last 20 minutes of games recently. I'm just worried that we could see KMcL at 2nd row and then start losing scrums in valuable positions when we are getting desperate. I think they'll take the easier approach.

Thanks for that - I emailed them and they were able to tell me the local time its being shown (unfortunately delayed coverage - I'm going to need to ignore here, my news feeds and my phone in case anyone accidently texts me) and a couple of pubs that'll be showing it :) makes this trip a bit better.

Wouldn't be too excited, was in Barcelona last week and nobody in the pub, ended up in a random bar which just had a huge sign saying "Sky Sports" and rugby list beside it.,....ended up a good crowd of us in there....one girl who lived in Barca had done the same, joined us for a few drinks while watching the game....good crack all in all but not the Leinster official pub

I don't mind if i'm the only eejit in the place shouting at the screen, to be honest - I was stuck in the air for the Scarlets match and was raging. Its just a question between three places, a sports bar called "Gridiron" recommended by a friend, that *should* be showing it, a place called "Healy Mac's" (possibly fitting) or "The Green Man"

All sound like salubrious places. :)

Normally the host club is required to have a Plan B to play the game that weekend at another ground. I remember Dragons had to move a game against Biarritz to Parc y Scarlets.

Yeah unfortunately its snowing with me all day Saturday, but Exeter seems fine. (According to the BBC that is)

I heard last night from someone in LR that BOD could be out of the weekend and now Feek saying they need gametime with the WH's before 6N maybe its because he wont play the weekend.

So im wondering what the backline will be

    RK
    Isa
    Ferg
    GD
    Fitz

    Or

    RK
    Is
    GD
    Ferg
    Fitz

    or
    RK
    Isa
    GD
    Fitz
    Ferg

    hmmmm

Would love to see it, but think the centres will be swapped. I'd really love to see D'Arcy with that extra 5 yards of space in the next channel.

I'd prefer EOM at 13 though, guy was made to run silky lines against a big blocky defence like Exeter's.

He might well play, but considering SOB and Kearney are also being mentioned for the WH's game I don't think he's playing purely because he will miss this weekend.

His injury was on the left ankle, it was the right ankle he rolled at the weekend. Not sure if that's more of a worry or less of a worry tbh. Keeping the fingers and toes crossed, but wouldn't be surprised if he didn't start even if available.

Ah yeah I know it was the other ankle but was told there's a fair chance he wont be starting/playing.

Basically The way things are if both Leicester and Montpelier would have to lose their games for Munster or Leinster to have any hope of qualifying. Bonus points or not. Can't see that happening. =(

 Once Munster and Leinster get winning bonus points, isn't the only way Leicester/Toulouse can affect them is if Toulouse lose and get 2 bonus points.

Eh?! That's not correct by any means.
If Leinster and Munster get 5 pointers, and Montpellier lose without getting 2 points, and Toulouse Win or Lose without two points orLeicester Win, both will go through.

There's also a chance that both could go through on 19 at the moment.

Biarritz losing tonight was a massive help on that front.

So if Leicester win and Toulon beat Montpellier(who dont get TBP) and Munster and Leinster win without scoring 4 tries, they both go through on 19?

Once Toulouse don't get a bonus point (or if Toulouse win). And Northampton don't win scoring a 3 more tries than Leinster/4 more than Munster.

Ah you have to love all the permutations. :pac:
