I know this question isn't strictly related to the building and upgrading of PC's :p
but I thought people with multiple monitor setups might have some insight.

I'm looking for a large straight computer desk, maybe 6ft+ long.

The longest ikea desk I found was 1600mm

Does anybody have a glass ikea desk? I wonder if a clamped on egrotron monitor arm would work with a glass table?

I wouldn't trust an Ikea desk that long to hold up under the weight of a monitor arm. Myself and my girlfriend both use Ikea desks (the 120cm ones) with Ergotron mounts. Last year there was a few times were I got a tad... cranky, and thumped on my desk. The weight of the monitor bouncing an inch or two was enough to put a small crater in the desk after two or three goes. We've since replaced the desk tops, and (not having hit it yet) it seems to be holding up ok, but my gut instinct tells me you'd be better off with a few sorter desks, or getting something custom built. (My custom desk at home is going for over ten years at this point and doesn't have a single mark on it. Damn thing's built like a tank)
