    Hi,
My 2001 matiz car failed NCT for the following reasons.
    1) door sills - primary structure corrosion
    2) Offside front suspension locking device missing
    3) Offside front transmission CV boot insecure.

Can somebody suggest is it major and how much it would cost to to fix it.

    Thanks

The locking device is normally a missing split pin or a standard nut fitted instead of a locking nut on some suspension component, and an insecure CV boot normally just requires a new clip.

I'm not sure about the rust repair, it really depends on if you want a rough patch up job or a proper permanent repair.

    Nissan doctor,
I don't want to spend much on this as I need it only until I clear my test. So definitely a rough patch up is fine if it is ok for NCT.
Any idea of ball park figure for the whole thing?

Less then an hours labour to check and repair the CV clip and whatever other locking device is missing. So no more then €50 I would think.

Bodywork is not my area but I'd expect maybe €100-€150 for a basic repair.

Thanks for the comforting figure for the component fixing.
Can you fix the components or do you recommend some mechanic. I am in Dublin-8
