Garden bike security

I'm looking around for something which I can install in my garden to lock our bikes to.

Our rear garden has a gate onto the road behind, which is great for bike access, but not great for security. We know of one neighbour who has had a bike stolen from their back garden.

So, I'm looking for options for what to do/buy in order to secure about 4 bikes in the back garden, which isn't huge!

    Any ideas?

A ground anchor would be worth considering - what about daisy chaining the bikes together with a good quality lock - maybe including something like a step ladder as well? Will at least make then less portable. Any device / lock will eventually be defeated by the determined thief, but they're also fairly lazy and will more than likely give up on a good lock.

Are they in a shed or not? If not, consider getting a shed as they'll be less on display to opportunists. Within the shed, a ground anchor or very heavy chain concreted below the shed to lock to.

Before I started storing my bike in the hall, I kept its predecessor in the garden. I had a 'rawlbolt' eyebolt embedded in the wall and would lock through the rear wheel and chainset with a U lock. Too low to rotate the bike and no room to get a lever into the lock.

I lock my cheapest bike to a full patio gas cylinder with a Kryptonite Fahgewhatever. It's obviously liftable but I figure any bike crappy enough to be kept outside is not likely to attract a determined thief.
