    Morning all,

Having a problem with an upstairs toilet cistern being filled very slowly. Water is dripping in from the little nozzle as can be seen in the attached photo (top right)

and I'm not too sure where to start with this. Water stops dripping in once float reaches its proper level, so no issue with overflowing. Don't know what brand of cistern it is, but we have the same one in another bathroom upstairs and this is filling fine - so no issue with water pressure....

    Any ideas ?

We had a similar problem with ours. On investigation, it was found that a fly or bee had gotten into the system and was causing a blockage. We had to turn off the water and drain the system in order to clear the debris. It was tricky, but did the job.

Turn off the water to the bathroom. Flush the toilet. Open the large white nut on the ballcock. Carefully remove the parts from it ( and remember which way they came out ) clean out the cone shaped plastic nozzle and re assemble

If the nozzle as mentioned by DTP is not blocked, then it is more than likely the rubber diaphragm located behind the larger of the white nuts on the valve that has hardened, it is a very common problem on this type of valve and simple to change.
They are quite cheap to buy and most good plumbing stockist will have them.

    Brilliant, thanks a million.

Was the rubber diaphragm that was the problem. Changed it with the one from the other bathroom and water is gushing out :)

    Thanks all for your help
