Seen this on BFF and taught it might interest some of you. Its not going to suit a lot of land types but it may help some.

If it had a gravel box on the back it would be a cheap way to do some drainage and a little longer leg. Easy to get around the extra pull from the longer leg by ripping the ground first with the leg at 18" and second time drop it to 24" and lay pipe. This guys land the drains work with out gravel but a lot wont. And that small pipe is only about 50cent a meter so its not dear if it only work a few years. Thinking of adapting my mole drainer to do this

Where would the gravel go? The pipe fits into the hole made by the mole on the plough. Even if there was room to add stone around the pipe when its laid, how you ensure that the stone went around the pipe and what size of a mole would you need to be pulling to be able to put gravel around it?

There's a video on youtube of an irish guy doing the exact same thing on his land. He is installing 2 inch pipe and he explains the process. He explains that the 2 inch pipe is a way of keeping the mole drain working for extra years.

I spoke with a guy about laying the two inch pipe like that.
His explanation was that on land where it had to dry allot to travel italy not hold the mole shape, the pipe would hold it open for years.

It's in my mind to try it. Kinda of a mates rates sort of thing.

See Gravel mole drainer - have never used any of these but seems to have
    potential.

Spoke years ago to him about that gravel plough and he said if u had land that would hold a mole not to bother. Plus it was dear enough. I made my mole plough for about 400 and i reckon another 400 will change the leg and put a little gravel hopper on it. My land holds moles well but u need pipes after 40m really so this looks an inexpensive way and very little disturbance

looks a nice idea as it might avoid distubance and heaps around the place and i thought if a contractor had one, wouldnt be handy-we all have bits and pieces to do and it would be a bit of out of season work for them.and they know where all the soft patchs are after this year:P
