I've a 2007 (old model) Mondy - for the past few weeks only, she's had condensation inside the windscreen in the morning.........any idea why this would be (and is it indicative of a bigger issue?)

Its more than likely that you have a leak somewhere allowing water into the car or do you keep wet gear in the boot, golfing gear, oil skins.. It could also be due to the wet weather and carpets being a little damp due to wet shoes etc..First thing is to look in the boot for any signs of water under the spare wheel.

Check the carpets on passenger side front. I had one mondeo that leaked from around the cabin-air filter and another one that leaked from an incorrectly sealed windscreen.

Noticed it recently on the glass that houses the dials - a mate of mine suggested changing the pollen filter.

A lot of cars get caught with block brains under the bonnet.

The plenum tray under the windscreen has drains that get blocked with leaves a crud

They fill with water and it comes in through the air intake for the heating.

You mat need to change the pollen filter as they block up and stop fresh air getting into the car.

Try setting your air to recirculate when you get out of the car to close the path of damp/cold air getting into the car at night. ;)

For what its worth, the recent drop in temperatures has meant that all the humidity stored up in the cars during the previous warm wet spell is now condensing all over the windows. My two cars had very foggy and wet windows for all of last week. Only now have they cleared up. By that i mean that they would be wet and heavily fogged up for the first 10 minutes of driving every day, with the rear window heater permanently on. Now they just need a minute of AC to clear them.
Thats not to say the OP's car doesn't have a problem.
    It's just another potential.

Turn both the heating and Air Conditioning on full belt.

This evaporates any moisture in the car, get's rid of it, and replaces it with fresh, warm, dry air.

There will be condensation on my windscreen some mornings if I park facing North, if I park facing South it'll be on the back window which the rear heater will clear much easier. Just something I noticed, not quite sure about East or West !

A blocked pollen/cabin filter can cause condensation too.

Had this problem in 2 different cars, was the pollen filter in both cases.
