Apartment Block - locking bike

Just bought a bike and need somewhere to leave it. Housemate doesnt want me leaving it in the house which is annoying. There is no designated bike rack/stands. We arent allowed to lock them to the railings in or outside. The management company say to leave it in the bin sheds but this is left unlocked and there is nowhere to phyically lock it to.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Can't you leave it in your bedroom? Surly that's none of your housemates business.

I'm also on the second floor but I've had three bikes stolen, one was from the shed in my house so I trust no one and no place and I love my bike! Better safe than sorry in my book.

My neighbour across the way from me locks his bike to the balcony too.

is your housemate the owner, if not keep it in your own room and tell them to mind their own business.

As long as your a keeping it in your own private room, tidying up any mess made bringing it in and out, i cant see any problem.

Cheers all. Yeah its his gaff and dont particularly want it left in my room.

May just leave it on the balcony but was worried it might take a battering from the weather. Guess I can get some sort of cover for it.

    Thanks again

If you're the Paul Tergat who held the world record in the marathon from 2003 to 2007, with a time of 2:04:55, and is regarded as one of the most accomplished long-distance runners of all time........why do you need a bicycle????

Lock them. My mate did the same until the security guard showed him video of two gougers hanging off his balcony trying to get the bike. Luckily the security guard saw it in real time and scared them off.

If the apartment below you has any kind of railing or even a patio table it wouldn't be hard to climb up.

Ask if there is a store room and if there is see if you could get a key for it as it is in the best interests of all not to have bikes in view to attract "gougers" in.
Even better to add the lock on the store room door to the fob system in the building so no additional keys are required.
