Donedeal app update

Anyone else think the new update for the donedeal app is crap? The layout was grand the way it was, I became an expert browser while sitting on the pot!

They could maybe have thrown in a couple more filters, and a few new required fields like NCT, mileage, etc when adding a vehicle. Cuts out sh1tty ads, but I suppose they don't mind once they're getting their €5.

Also the new filter to find an auto car does nothing!

Few emails from customers might get them to sort it...

I emailed withing 5 minutes of performing the update.

I've also posted on their facebook page.

I was on it everyday looking for a car for my girlfriend. I think it is crap now. I loved the way it was.

The only good thing about the app is it fits the screen on my iPhone 5 properly now. Before it was black at the top and bottom as the screen is bigger than the 4s. But I can see what everyone is saying the older one had a better layout. I use to be on donedeal all the I'm rarely on it now. I find adverts good to buy and sell anything under a thousand euro or so and its free. But I wouldn't imagine it's any good to sell cars on.

Another case of an app gone crap with focus on aesthetics over user functionality.

I just spent 20 mins downgrading it to the previous version. Which is only possible with a Jailbroken device and working knowledge of iOS filesystem.

Is this update just crap on Apple's or does it apply to Android too?

Have the app, but its not set to auto-update, so I might leave it alone if its as bad as being reported on here.

Not true.

Just delete the app on your iphone. Then plug your iphone into your computer and transfer the older version of the app from your computer back onto your iphone.

This of course will only work if you downloaded the app on your phone and not on your computer.

Well that's ok once you have not synced with your computer since or have a backup.

Unfortunately I allowed my phone to update all apps yesterday, had been holding off on the donedeal one after reading this.

WTF were they thinking. On a small screen, you're constantly scrolling through the search results, certainly that's what I do, you may be moving slowly, but you're moving. The new side by side layout brings an extra axis of movement into it, looking from left to right as well as the scrolling, and just makes the whole experience horrible. I have sent them my feedback, but I doubt anything will be done, no doubt the person receiving the feedback was responsible for the changes, it's their baby so to speak and they won't be told that their baby is ugly.

Going to delete the app and see if I can restore the old version from my PC.

If your on android and got the **** update download "aptoide" and search done deal and it will download the ver2.0 fastest way i found

I downgraded the app via iTunes on my computer, so I'm back using the old one.
The new app is shockingly bad and user non friendly.
