Would most good motor factors not have all that stuff on shelf. I know all the ones in my local town have. Or would get it next day. Plus way cheaper than main dealer

Aren't those really basic parts that every dealer would have like?

You misread the post, he was suggesting the parts are so common most of them would be sold by a Motor Factors (or places like GSF or Otto). Even Halfords sell Cabin Filters, Oil Filters, Spark Plugs etc. You dont need BMW for these type of parts.

I might be going to halfords today anyways, I need to get some hex screwdrivers (to take battery cover off) and look for battery there, but I will check small shops suggested first too.

Most parts departments of main dealers either only open Monday to Friday or are only open for a few hours on Saturday if you are lucky.

parts for cars are large motor factors in coolmine industrial estate, open to 5 today

Sorry did mean that these parts are seriously common plus meant to say pick up the phone to make sure that the motorfactor is open plus its got all the parts.
And also by phoning its a lot easier to get the best price/discount as they know you could be phoning around whereas if your stood in the shop your more than likely going to purchase there.
Have a good day doing your service

Ended up getting only battery and changing it. Decided not to risk with other parts and will just go to mechanic.
Suggest a good BMW mechanic/garage? The type that first looks, tells price then does it. And if possible open on Sunday :)
    Thank You.
