Hadn't seen a thread on this, apologies if I've missed it.

John Flynn from Dunmore East, a former RNLI crewman, volunteer fireman and coach of an underage football team in the area, died on Friday morning after his boat got into difficulties off Brownstown Head.

I had met him a few times in Dunmore and he was a lovely, genuine guy.

What makes it worse is that his death came six years to the day after the Pere Charles tragedy, and John had been involved in the rescue attempts at the time.

Rest in Peace, and thoughts yet again are with the lovely people of Dunmore East.
